Donations & Sponsors Needed #1 :: Post by ABV on December 01 2009 10:36:19 Hi Guys & Gals It saddens us to say that donations these last few months have dwindled to the point where we really panic towards the end of the month wondering how we are gonna pay this server bill. There are the few who donate every month and whilst we appreciate everything they donate, its a piss take to them as they are carrying the can for everyone else. especially those who donate nothing and treat what we are trying to do at Bassjunkees as some kind of Joke. Bassjunkees is coming into its 4th year of existence at the end of February 2010 and it's only because of the donations we receive that we have been able to continue as long as we have. We have thought about the subscription based pay to play routine for DJ's and have tried to hold off as long as possible. But its really getting to the point where come 2010 we really may not have any choice. There are some stations out there not even hitting the 40-50 listener mark and they're charging for air time! Not the way we want to go trust me, but perhaps we dont have our heads screwed on straight.. or perhaps we should be trying to screw as many for as much as we can to keep things rolling. Seems everyone else is doing it.. so lets join in.. no? So help us NOT to put this shitty practice into play by making a small donation now and again. We really hate to remind people, but you know server bills don;t pay themselves. Psycho and myself just can not afford to shell out the majority of it on our own - So give us a hand yeah? #2 :: Post by ABV on January 23 2010 21:55:38 Once again we find ourself in a difficult position, were Donations are short coming and we are now 60 quid behind to make the payment end of this month. we have 8 days to fidn 60 quid or we risk losing our server. Seriously guys we may have to make fees compulsory at this rate. 5 a month or something to cover our arses, cause neither psycho or myself enjoy sitting here wondering how the hell we are gonna pay the server bill.. I used to pay a tenner a month for another station i played for and its was nuffin compared to bassjunkees. I imagine its the same peeps that are donating every month and the same peeps that arnt. It would be nice to think that we can all be trusted to donate without beeing chased up but it looks like some sort of policing of donations is needed. U know it only works out the cost of 2 pints... Admin could do something like change passwords for shoutcast each month and DJ's dont get the new one til they pay up. just an idea, I'm sure there are other ways to go about it sMallz already donated on part of the Rinsetigators this month, but come Friday I'll be glad to throw down a 5er. I recon it might be useful to have a little reminder by email every month. ABV can you automate? In terms of listeners donating... I think it's quite rare really.
